NFL Week 2 2010-2011 Season injuries and studs

This weekend started to show some injuries and some rays of hopes.
Every year you’ll find a player that will emerge from the rough or
pan out well. Week 2 did just that for some.
The Philadelphia Eagles found that Michael Vick still has it as a
starter passing for almost 300 yards with 2 touchdowns leading them
to a victory over the young Detroit Lions. Although Vick had a great
outing and looked in stellar form Andy Reid and company will put
their eggs in the Kevin Kolb basket for now. Andy Reid made it very
clear that Vick is a temporary fix for week 2 and Kevin Kolb will be
the starter in Week 3 if healthy.
As for the other side of the ball the Detroit Lions seemed to shine
despite a loss. Detroit’s rookie running back Jahvid Best looked
great as he rushed for 78 yards on an average of 4.6 yard per carry
but it was his receiving skills that brought him to the front of the
pack this weekend. He caught 9 passes for 154 yards. Jahvid finished
his Sunday with 3 touchdowns and our player of the week.
As for the Pittsburgh Steelers the bottom doesn’t seem close enough
for them. It‘s easy to say their winning their games through defense
as they’re counting down the days till big Ben returns. With the
loss of Dennis Dixon Sunday the Steelers had to reach to third
string quarterback Charlie Batch. Yes the same Charlie Batch that
played for the Detroit Lions early this century. It’s still a guess
who will start in week 3 but I’m sue the Steelers are working hard
on that this week as they prepare for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
